Vanuit mijn hoofd bestuur ik het meeste in mijn leven. Gewenst en ongewenst. Het brengt helderheid en richting, maar ook verwarring en onrust. Soms loop ik vast in mijn hoofd. Om daar (proberen) uit te komen, ga ik regelmatig wandelen. Met mijn voeten op de grond, in plaats van op paden in mijn hoofd. Ik probeer tijdens het wandelen los te komen van mijn gedachten en af te dalen naar mijn voeten.
Soms lukt dat, soms ook niet. Soms gebruik ik een mantra, soms muziek of luisterboek, soms ben ik me bewust van de geluiden om me heen. Ik heb niet altijd een antwoord na het wandelen, als ik dat al zocht, maar ik ben wel altijd rustiger en blijer. Ik voel eigenlijk altijd meer ruimte, zowel in mijn lijf als in mijn hoofd. Tijdens mijn wandeling vandaag had ik een regel van een liedje in mijn hoofd van Kings of Convenience.
De regel luidt "let your hips do the talking". Ik bedacht me dat het geweldig zou zijn als je voeten af en toe alle regie zouden overnemen. Dat niet je hoofd bepaald hoe lang je wandelt, hoe ver je gaat of welke afslag je neemt, maar je voeten nemen je mee op pad en je hoofd beleeft deze ervaring in plaats van deze te sturen, te duiden, te bepalen. Hoe gaaf zou dat zijn! Een pad vol verassingen.
